The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh
Victoria is a young, foster-care child who has been to numerous foster families & foster homes. Meredith is her social worker. Meredith knows that Victoria is a hard child to place.
Meredith has found a foster home for Victoria with Elizabeth. Elizabeth has a vineyard that she maintains very well.
Elizabeth recognizes Victoria's thirst for the knowledge of the meaning of flowers and the secret language that they issue. Elizabeth proceeds to teach her the meanings behind different flowers.
Victoria thrives with her knowledge and learning and acquires a job working at Bloom, a floral shop owned by Renata.
Victoria's knowledge and use of flowers for people earns her repeat business from customers. She then meets Grant who sells flowers at the flower market. They become friends in a complicated manner. They both share the love of flowers and their meaning.
Many ups and downs from this point. Life happens and you will have to read the book to find that out.
This is well written and Victoria's trials and tribulations will make you smile and cry.
